Computer Security Warning

You may have heard reports in the news recently of several security vulnerabilities which could potentially affect your computer(s). There are so many reports that people have a tendency to begin to ignore them. When it comes to protecting your identity and your finances, however, you can't afford to hide your head in the sand.

FirstState Bank takes seriously its obligations to protect your information, we have taken steps to address security issues from our end. But it's up to you to protect your computer(s); we can't do that for you. We urge you in the strongest possible terms to ensure that any computer you may use for Internet Banking is as secure as you can make it. Here are some suggestions (and this is by no means an exhaustive list):

  • Ensure that you are not using Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8 (or any other version no longer supported by Microsoft).

  • We recommend that you keep your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) updated to the latest version available.

  • We recommend that you not access Internet Banking while using public (airport, hotel, coffee shop, etc.) Wi-Fi.

  • Ensure that your antivirus/anti-malware databases are kept up-to-date.
